Laya Rasooli
Laya Rasooli (Afghan-born, based in Tāmaki Makaurau) is a painter whose abstract, textured figurative works explore what home and belonging mean after displacement. Having moved between countries since childhood, she layers colour, gesture, and pattern with memories and family stories to hold moments of vulnerability, resilience, and joy, inviting viewers to find their own journeys inside the work.
