Joshua returned to New Zealand in 2023 after a six-year immersion as a composer in film music in Los Angeles, California. His reprieve from city life found him pen in hand, his therapeutic outlet inspired by his love for the complexity of New Zealand’s mountain ranges. His vessel: ink, instead of music. His acute attention to the feel of jagged peaks, glaciers, and lake shores surrounding his hometown of Queenstown has since been translated through his fountain pen and traditional India ink. This amalgamation of detail and grandeur can be felt in the harmony of his Indian ink line art.
