Weston Frizzell is the collaborative identity of artists Otis Frizzell and Mike Weston. Bold, innovative and frequently controversial, this "hi-performance art partnership” has its roots in the street art and pop culture melting pot of Aucklands late 90s Karangahape Rd alternative art scene. Weston Frizzell manipulate appropriated subject matter by applying cut-up and remix techniques to the creative process producing contemporary polemic artworks with high production values Informed by Dada, Punk, Situationism, Hip-hop, Graffiti art and Techno culture, their work juxtaposes art history and contemporary media. Appropriated from a broad set of cultural sources, Weston Frizzell's work spans the boundaries between art, product, design, style and artifact.
