Frankie Meaden

Frankie Meaden is a New Zealand based artist known for using recycled materials in her work. She has been a professional artist since 2016. Frankie makes huge, colourful, tactile, embroidered artworks, that hang like tapestries. She is pushing the boundaries of fibre art, experimenting with the scale of embroidery, and repurposing waste into embroidered artworks. The rope used in her artwork is made from recycled plastic (made from plastic pulled out of our oceans), and the fabric comes from street pole banners that would otherwise be going to landfill.
