Volker Hawighorst

As a trained cabinet maker Volker has a strong foundation of solid craftsmanship and a keen eye for detail. He worked for several decades as an architect in international environments, responsible for large corporate projects and smaller ventures. After moving from Germany to New Zealand, Volker started exploring new media to express his creativity. Current work: Many small units are combined into a new, larger entity. Arranging mundane, recycled everyday objects results in a novel perspective, where the elements create a completely new aesthetic context that has connections to geology, mathematics and ecology.
