roOm

“roOm” is my artist name that I create and show work under. I am interested in the anonymity of photography. People focus on the image and camera rather than me, the artist behind it. I enjoy invisibility. I also like the personal vision that photography brings - my eye sees things differently to yours & yours different to mine. I see my role as artist to create work that generates tension between the visible, the concept I’m suggesting, and the viewer. I like capturing solitude and isolation, showcasing scenes with remote or over-looked locations at dusk, dark or low-light. As the photographer, I don’t want to alter the environment or recreate it, but I want to bring elements of humanity (good and bad) to my scenes, using props and the forgotten to talk about the world around us.
