William Milo is a contemporary artist with a distinctive drawing and creative style, combining handwritten, humorous text within well-crafted, funky frames that are an artwork themselves. Milo’s work documents a range of honest everyday commentaries and the typical rendered texts are usually deadpan/sassy in their humour and reveal chance utterings like snippets of overheard conversations or internal thoughts. Recurring themes pervade William’s storytelling, some with a view from a queer world reading and others from a critical artworld. The frames he makes to complete the work are exemplary of Milo’s practice, showing that the finished product is as important as the idea that feeds it.
